Licenses and tags may be purchased at local stores or online.
If you are interested in buying your license
online, you must either create an account or if you've had a license in the past 3 years in Oregon, verify/look-up your account and then complete the account set-up process. You may use the guest checkout option (instead of setting up an account) for single day or multi-day licenses (not annual licenses and tags) if you intend to print a paper license at home before your trip. Guest checkout cannot be used if you would like your license and tag on your phone.
If you choose to set-up an account, you will need to select either e-tagging or paper tagging. If you choose paper tagging you will need to print a paper license and tag. A screenshot of the license and tag is not sufficient.
If you choose e-tagging you must install the MyODFW app on your phone. You will need to remember your username and password from account set-up to sign in to the app. Before your trip, login to the MyODFW app and sync with your account and become familiar with the e-tagging process. Internet access is not always available on the river for account set-up, app installation or to sync. Also be sure to have a fully charged phone battery so you may access your license/tag in the app to tag fish or if requested to be seen by law enforcement.
